There are specific things that we can do to help the environment. It does not depend on politicians to move or scientists to invent. These are simple things you can do here and now that have a significant impact.
The first compromise is with yourself. You make it public, so you will be accountable in front of others. Anyone can search for anyone on our site and see their compromise with the environment. This works for anonymous citizens, public figures, and politicians.
You can suggest to friends and family to make the compromise. It will also be good to send it to musicians, athletes, or politicians. If you give them support, they should be accountable that they are respectful of what you stand for.
You will have to renew your compromise every month. While you keep the compromise, you can use the Compromis logo in your public profile and social media.
Compromise with the environment and making it public is necessary to help others. It's a way to build a better society together.
Many of us have good intentions, but sometimes we forget. The public statement will help us remember. It's the extra pressure that is healthy and necessary. This is effective for any of us. We know that family members, neighbors, and friends will see what we do for the environment.
The social impact is essential in public figures: artists, sportspeople, and politicians. Their work and salary depend on what people think about them. They will help the environment if they feel pressure from their followers. This also has a way back: many people will do the right thing if they see that their role models do it.
We can put extra pressure on public figures, in particular politicians. Everybody can search this site to see if someone has made a compromise for the environment. If you cannot find the person, you can send a message on Twitter or other social media.
I have chosen the basic things that anybody can do individually. There are no excuses. We cannot blame others: the government, a specific political party, the society… The things we compromise on this site are the minimum, but if many people in the world put those into practice, we can make a significant change.
You can do specific things for the planet. You also have a way of helping others gently, positively, and consistently.

The environment and climate change is the second more critical problem in our world. For me, the number one is poverty. This is true in the poor zones of the planet but also in the rich countries. We can see it in the streets of any major city. Some people do not have enough to live with dignity.
Helping the environment can also contribute to mitigating poverty. Ok, only indirectly, but it will address some of the causes that have a more profound impact. It is essential to solving the problem in the long term. Let me explain.
Climate change is affecting crops and the food supply. This has an impact on the humble small farmer and the big distribution. Then the immigration flows increase. Millions of people leave their country, culture, and roots to live in the miserable slums of rich countries.
When we see all those realities near us, we feel overwhelmed. We do not know what to do. So we blame the politicians, the governments that do not do enough and fight each other, and the society that doesn't work well.
Many organizations are doing an admirable job of helping. They are focusing on the consequences of the problem. That is good and necessary.
What we are doing here, on this site, is trying to go to one of the roots. These are very small things but are very specific, we are responsible, and they can have a significant impact.
Compromis, without the final "e" is the word in Catalan, my language. It is also how it is in French, another important language for me. I made "e" in the logo blur to remind English speakers that the name and domain are without that letter. Of course, compromise.com was not available, and I tried to turn a difficulty into an advantage. I am not sure if I got it?
Plus, the "e" is the first letter of "environment." The green color tries to remind that.
To sum up, the logo communicates "compromise with a green environment." All in one word-graphic and open to different languages and cultures.
